The Rings For Couples: A Ring to Remember and to Promise

I tie my handkerchief, or, more accurately my finger!

Have you ever been compelled to keep something in mind? We've all tried to find an approach to "guide" our memory and force it to keep in mind something that is important and we are not able to forget.

To accomplish this, we use techniques. A classic way is to tie knots into things that we keep right in front of us.

This is an ancient tradition to keep the promise or commitment made to another person or to us.

The Japanese also have a custom of tying red threads onto the fingers of their hands. This custom is based on an ancient Chinese legend. Every single one of us was born with an imaginary red thread, impervious to destruction, that is tied to our left finger, binding us inextricably to our soulmate.

This is also where the practice of actually tying a small red string around your finger originates and ties the act to an idea... of understanding and commitment or revenge?

Who hasn't heard the words: "I'll tie this on my finger!" to symbolize the desire to always keep the injustice that was suffered in the forefront of your mind? The promise ring is an ideal present for lovers.

A promise ring which says important things

The distance between the knot and the ring is extremely short.

Tradition is full of humorous and romantic stories about the promise ring. It can be a sign of commitment, fidelity, marriage or chastity, however it can also be a tangible representation of the bond between two people and of maternal affection towards the child, or of loving a parent with a filial heart.

Some people make a promise that they will live a frugal and sober and wear a ring each day to remind themselves of their commitment.

It can be a small incentive to reach an objective or to be a reminder of a significant occasion. In most cases, however the most frequently used meaning is that of the promise of fidelity and love between two lovers.

In the past, it was thought that the vein connected to the heart travelled through the ring finger; the vein called the vena amoris. And so, like the engagement ring the "promise ring" that reminds and reaffirms affection and bond throughout the day, is commonly worn on the left finger. There are several ways to wear the ring. It can be placed on the index finger as a promise ring, on the little finger or even worn through a cherished necklace.

"PROMISES are only appointments that you should never miss."

The latest fashion trends suggest that you can signify your commitments with a ring of promise by engraving words or phrases with deep and symbolic meanings on the outside of the ring.

Personalizing the message is an exercise in imagination and creativity and also a pledge... A unique way to make your present unique.
